Coperion: Fusion of two group companies Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer and Coperion Waeschle

The Coperion Group (www.coperion.com) will merge its two existing member companies, Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer GmbH & Co. KG and Coperion Waeschle GmbH & Co. KG into the existing Coperion GmbH. This decision represents a further logical step in the Group´s implementation of a strategy that began in 2001 with the introduction of the name of Coperion. This integrative name expresses, even more clearly than before, the uniqueness of Coperion´s position in the market, for Coperion is the only company worldwide to offer complete customized compounding systems and bulk materials handlings systems from one single supplier. The long-term importance of this merger for the Coperion Group is explained by Günter Bachmann, Chairman of the Executive Board: "Operating under one and the same name – Coperion – is a decisive and indispensable component of our corporate strategy, which is aimed at further expansion of our position in the global market. This clear ´single brand strategy´ will enable our customers to comprehend our globally unique range of products more easily. It will also make it easier for us to utilize the forces of globalization to our own advantage." The merger of the two companies will be completed by the middle of November 2008. Following the Coperion Group´s single brand strategy, the Hartmann and Keya brands will in future be handled under the name of Coperion as well.

The organizational structures of the three Competence Centres will remain in place. The products of Werner & Pfleiderer and Keya are offered exclusively by the Competence Center Compounding & Extrusion managed by Wolfgang Pöschl, while those of Waeschle and Hartmann are offered exclusively by the Competence Center Materials Handling managed by Axel Kiefer. The Competence Center Service is managed by Thomas Kehl and completes Coperion´s service portfolio.
