Klöckner Pentaplast: New PETG films now available

The Pentacard® film product line has been extended to include the new Pentacard® CC-M719/01, Pentacard® CC-M722V01, and Pentacard® CC-M730/18 rigid PETG films. With these new Pentacard® PETG films, Klöckner Pentaplast GmbH & Co. KG (kp, www.kpfilms.com) now offers another supplemental material along with its broad range of PVC and ABS blend films to meet the card industry’s needs. The new Pentacard® PETG films exhibit excellent surface consistency, thickness control, and optical properties. These new films are an ideal alternative for high-end polycarbonate applications like ID card and security document applications, as well as paper/card for applications like bank, credit, customer, and loyalty cards.

Pentacard® CC-M719/01 is designed for loyalty card applications with easy printing, laminating, punching, and embossing properties. The proprietary embossed surface offers consistent quality for excellent printability. Available in sheets and rolls/reels, this film is produced in two shades of white (blue tint and yellow tint).

Pentacard® CC-M730/18 is highly durable and ensures long life which is ideal for high-end applications like bank and credit cards. The film’s laminating temperature is engineered to provide the optimal processing window so as not to harm embedded chips and antennas; thus improving yield and quality while minimizing total cost per unit.

Pentacard® CC-M722V01 combines high durability and high Vicat values for high temperature applications. With these properties, this film is an ideal alternative to polycarbonate for ID card and security documents.

“The expansion of kp’s product portfolio with these new Pentacard® PETG films along with our existing broad range of Pentacard® PVC and ABS/PVC blend films continues to provide to our customers the broadest available selection of card films in the industry,” says Dr. Jürgen Bundschuh, Pentaplast’s business manager for card films. “Specifically the easy processability and high durability of Pentacard® PETG films meet the high security and quality needs of the card industry.”
