DKR: Plastic Recycling - High-Quality Regranulates and New Technologies

Together with three partner companies, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kunststoff-Recycling mbH (www.dkr.de) will present current developments in plastic recycling at K´2004. Two of DKR’s recovery partners, Schwarzataler Kunststoffe and relog plastics with its sales partner SIR from Italy, are presenting their regranulates for broad sectors of processing. Pla.to GmbH, a subsidiary of Gesellschaft für SYStemTEChnologie mbH (SYSTEC), which develops successful system solutions for sorting and recovery, will provide information about a new technology for the recovery of mixed plastics.

One new product presented at the DKR stand at the fair by Pla.to GmbH will be the DC300, a new generation of disc compacter. For the first time, a simple, portable, small compacting system will convert plastic films, fibres and foams into a homogeneous, pourable material. This system is offered with a throughput of 100 - 200 kg per hour and works fully automatically with integrated cooling in a very small space. The DC300 can be individually adapted to the refinement of various plastics. For example, the exhibit on the stand converts marginal strips into high-quality agglomerate.

With one of the most state-of-the-art bottle refinement systems in Germany, Schwarzataler Kunststoff GmbH provides highly pure starting material for the production of flakes and regranulate. Schwarzataler granulate the polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) acquired; the PET fraction is processed into flakes for the textile and fibre industry or, if the customer wishes, into regranulate. Schwarzteler obtains PE-LD film granulate from film fraction. The production of HD/LD compounds is also possible.

Visitors will find the DKR stand with its familiar, unmistakable stand design. “We show that the use of products made of recycled plastic is even possible in trade fair design,” explains Uli Martin, head of DKR corporate communications. Brightly coloured surfaces made of bottle material, either very thick as the stand floor or shop window base, or pressed thinly and backlit as an eye-catching light installation put the spotlight on the versatile material of recycled plastic.
