Biesterfeld: Assumption of Distribution for Lanxess Polymer Additives in Central and Eastern Europe

The Hamburg-based distribution and service company Biesterfeld has received the distribution rights from Lanxess for its polymer additive portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe. The agreement covers a wide range of branded products, including Acetin, Adimoll, Bayhibit, Baypure, Baymod, Baysolvex, Disflamoll, Epiphos, K-flex, Levagard, Mesamoll, Mersolat, Modulast, Triacetin, TBP, TIBP, Ultramoll, Unimoll, and Vitroflex. The distribution region includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

Scope of the Product Portfolio
The product range covers two key additive groups: flame retardants and plasticizers.

Lanxess is one of the leading suppliers of organic flame retardants. The product line includes polymer-bound and reactive systems that enable lower migration in plastics, thereby reducing environmental and health risks without compromising fire protection performance. These additives are used in applications such as insulation, cables, printed circuit boards, films, tarpaulins, flooring, seat covers, and other fire protection products—particularly in the construction, electronics, and e-mobility sectors.

In the field of plasticizers, Lanxess offers products that improve the elasticity, flexibility, and processability of polymers. They are used in flooring, wall coverings, cables, films, sheets, coatings, as well as adhesives and sealants. By selecting suitable additives, properties such as flame retardancy, weather resistance, and chemical resistance can be specifically tailored.

Cooperation and Market Position
With this distribution agreement, Biesterfeld strengthens its presence in the polymer market of Central and Eastern Europe.

According to Florian Lessmann, Sales & Product Manager Polymer Additives at Biesterfeld, the cooperation aims to facilitate access to new customer groups and will be supported by technical expertise. Carl Waite, Head of Sales PLA North/East Europe at Lanxess, highlights Biesterfeld’s long-standing experience in distributing polymer additives and its ability to ensure a high level of service and support.
