FKuR: Biopolymers specialist strengthens its management team

On the 1st of July 2008 Dr.-Ing. Christian Bonten (Photo) will join the management team at FKuR Kunststoff GmbH (www.fkur.com). Dr. Bonten, a plastics engineer, will assume the role of authorized representative responsible for Technology and Marketing and will reinforce the management board of Dr.-Ing. Edmund Dolfen, managing director, and Patrick Zimmermann, authorized representative responsible for Sales. Bonten was formally responsible for the global product management for two polymers within the "Specialty Polymers"business unit of BASF.

"This personnel recruitment will help us to benefit from the professionalism and experience of the world´s largest chemical company. We want to effectively assure our strong growth." says Mr. Dolfen. "For me personally, the task to take an active part in the strongly growing market of bioplastics represents a very interesting challenge", explains Mr. Bonten when commenting on his move to FKuR.

Bioplastics are a class of polymer, which have properties comparable to conventional polymers, but are made from renewable resources or enable the biodegradability of the products made from this material.

FKuR Kunststoff GmbH produces and markets specialised customized biopolymers which either use polylactic acid/copolyester (Bio-Flex®), cellulose ester (Biograde®) or WPC / wood - plastic compounds (Fibrolon®) as a basis. The close cooperation of the company with the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT assures outstanding know-how and quality standards.
