Bottles, canisters and other containers are produced in PE or PP by blow moulding. Depending on the process conditions and changes in the material, shape or colour, different amounts of high grade plastic waste arise continuously during the start-up process as well as during production. At K 2007 NUGA AG (www.centricut.ch) is presenting its CentriCut 44 sl range of compact design granulators that are connected directly at the blow moulding machine and break down material left over from production into ground material that can be subsequently fed again together with virgin granulate. The hollow items are forced via a horizontally arranged screw so that they are axially fed from inside to the granulator rotor. They are granulated there between the rotor and stator blades into cleanly cut, low-dust ground material. Integrated pressurized air cleaning enables complete and very fast cleaning of the CentriCut granulators without opening, that is of great importance with frequent changes of material, shape and colour. The throughput of the CentriCut 44 sl with its 55 kW power rating reaches up to ca. 1,000 kg/h for hollow items of size 7-10 litres.
