The automotive supplier Webasto is continuing the restructuring process begun due to the persistently difficult market situation and announces the reduction of a further 300 jobs in Germany. This was announced by the company management and the works council after joint negotiations. The measure primarily affects administrative and management positions at the Stockdorf and Gilching sites and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. With this measure, Webasto is reacting to structural changes in the automotive market that necessitate a leaner and more efficient organizational structure. The goal is to reduce complexity within the company and accelerate decision-making processes to secure long-term competitiveness. The decision was made after intensive discussions between company management and employee representatives. Both sides agreed on a balance of interests. A transfer company will be established as a central instrument for the socially acceptable implementation of the staff reduction. This is intended to support affected employees in their professional reorientation for up to twelve months. Webasto is thus continuing the organizational realignment that has already begun, with which the company is reacting to changed market conditions in the automotive industry. Webasto has already made structural adjustments in the past to strengthen its competitive position among global suppliers. More information: www.webasto-group.com |
