With “AQCplus”, KraussMaffei is expanding digital process control in injection molding by adding direct feedback based on part weight. After each cycle, the produced part is weighed and the measured value is transferred to the machine control system. If the system detects deviations, for example due to fluctuating material densities in recyclates, additives or fillers, it automatically adjusts the holding-pressure profile during ongoing production. While the existing “APCplus” solution compensates for process fluctuations based on a viscosity index, “AQCplus” uses part weight as the quality parameter. This enables continuous, documented inspection of every cycle. As another new development, the company will showcase the “LRXplus SE” linear robot for side-entry removal in high-cavity and cleanroom applications. The concept is based on the “LRXplus” platform and is designed for short removal times and a compact system layout. Reinforced axes and drives, adapted components and a cleanroom-compatible design are intended to provide high dynamics and payload capacity. The axis configuration also leaves additional space for downstream process steps such as quality inspection, packaging or further medical-technology peripherals. The concept will be demonstrated on an all-electric “PX 160” equipped with a 96-cavity mold from männer by “Spectrix” for the production of protective caps for insulin pens. The application combines high-cavity mold technology, all-electric injection molding technology and side-entry removal, with a particular focus on short removal times and a reduced footprint in medical production. In addition, KraussMaffei will present cross-technology system, digital and service solutions for injection molding, reaction processing and extrusion. These include a prototype of the AI-based “K-AI” assistant from socialProduction, which is intended to support production processes in the future. At the partner booth of Oni-Wärmetrafo, a compact “CX 80” injection molding machine with adapted plasticizing equipment and the “BluePower Vario Drive” is also scheduled to be exhibited.
