K.D. Feddersen: Materialdepån Norden AB to operate as K.D. Feddersen Norden AB

For Hamburg-based plastics distributor K.D. Feddersen (www.kdfeddersen.com), all the signs in Northern Europe continue to point towards expansion. As from 1 December 2008, the Swedish firm acquired at the end of 2007 (See also plasticker-News from February, 5, 2008), Materialdepån Norden AB, will be officially operating as K.D. Feddersen Norden AB, thus emphasizing its membership of the Hamburg group of companies. As well as changing the company name, K.D. Feddersen is to continue vigorously pursuing the timetable for expansion in Northern Europe that it has set itself.

"Taking over this innovative company with its excellent know-how, a very good reputation in the region and a portfolio that perfectly complements our own has paid off," says Karlheinz Schuster, Managing Director of K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG, about the Swedish firm founded in 1981. With its specialisation in the distribution of polymers, as well as machines for plastics processing and the offering of training in the field of plastics, the company has become ideally incorporated into the Feddersen Group. According to Schuster, expansion to Northern Europe is following a long-term development timetable. The acquisition and renaming of K.D. Feddersen Norden AB represents the first milestone.

"Merging with a plastics distributor that has been established on the European market for over 50 years has created new perspectives for us in Northern Europe," explains Torbjörn Egerhag, Managing Director of the new K.D. Feddersen Norden AB. "We have not only been able to expand our business activities to Denmark and Finland but, thanks to the successful cooperation between K.D. Feddersen and Ticona GmbH, we have also been able to conclude a distribution contract all engineering polymers from Ticona GmbH in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Norway," Egerhag continues.

"Our aim is to offer fast and flexible local solutions with an attractive price / performance balance," Schuster points out. His requirements for this are high quality standards, know-how and technical expertise. Another key success factor is a sound knowledge of regional markets.
