PLASMAC (PLASMAC Ltd., Unit 18, Aylesbury Business Centre, Chamberlain Road, Aylesbury, GB Bucks HP19 3DY, Tel. +44/1902/373699, Fax +44/1902/373664) launched its Modular System range of plastics recycling extruders together with the new Procut in-line shredder and Powerfeed venturi trim conveying system. The scrap recycling extruders can be reconfigured to react to changes in processing requirements through the addition of modules such as material infeed devices and granule cooling alternatives as 'bolt-on' interchangeable units. The company showed during the K'2001 also two new modular machines, the Compact 55 Aircool and the more efficient Integra 55 Hydrocool for reprocessing large proportions of loose scrap. Both machines are now constructed on a 'flat-bed' basis, rather than the previous frame and panel layout, which allows more direct maintenance access. The Compact demonstrated recycling multiple-reel PE film scrap into high quality re-usable granules. The resulting granules have a minimal heat history, are free-flowing with a good bulk density and are essentially dust free compared with an agglomerate. Manufactured in screw diameter sizes ranging from 45 to 120 mm and with maximum outputs from 35 to 700 kg/h, the recycling extruders have a small footprint and offer a range of options such as metal detection or automatic hydraulic screenchangers. |
